LEAD for Women
Bank of America’s Leadership, Education, Advocacy and Development for Women (LEAD for Women) is an Employee Network program devoted to recruiting, developing and retaining top female talent and to celebrating women across the globe. LEAD for Women offers information, education and networking for women, enabling them to share best practices and cultivate connections and fostering success locally and nationally. LEAD for Women provides support and leverages the collective talents of employees to help make our company the employer of choice for female talent at every level of the organization.
LEAD for Women has been fostering professional growth for all women across the bank since the late 1990s. At the end of 2004, regional chapters began to form and a framework for future chapters was established. In late 2005, the LEAD for Women Affinity Group officially launched in Charlotte and Boston; quickly other chapters across the franchise began incorporating into LEAD for Women. In 2009, the Women’s Professional Network, a Merrill Lynch group, merged with LEAD for Women in several cities to create strong, active chapters. Today, there are twenty-five chapters in the United States, two in the United Kingdom, and chapters in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Canada and Singapore. LEAD for Women has 25,000 members.

The Metro NY Chapter has been incredibly grateful by the support offered from Bank of America’s LEAD for Women program. They have been an invaluable corporate partner who has repeatedly, and graciously, worked closely with us to put on terrific programs such as a night honoring Leymah Gbowee, and film screenings & panel discussions of the Women, War and Peace series.
